10/5 Day Thirty-Seven Of Game Project 2
Today (10/5) concluded the eighth week of the project and we have indeed made huge progress with the game.
The artists spent the day today replacing parts of the mockup level with polished graphical assets an animations. They were not able to get in everything into the game, however, but we still have time to do that next week, however, so it should not be a problem to get everything in before the presentation on Friday.
The programmers finished implementing all essential implementations and have turned to work on optimisations and wishlist material. The AI now has a much better movement pattern, but still has a few quirky bugs. The programmer working on it assured me however that it is only a matter of some minor tweaking and is, therefore, nothing to worry about.
We designers did some playtesting and allowed others to playtest as well and give us their feedback. The work that is left for us is tweaking of all of the variables and repositioning of some of the intractable objects in the game, which we can start working on as soon as the new rooms are implemented to the game. These changes will only be slight ones, however, and should not take much time to remedy as the artists have closely followed the layout of the mockup layout of the level.
Next week we will continue working on the project for our ninth consecutive week. This week we will once again, only have four days to finalize everything before the big reveal which will be held on Friday. We are all very excited about this and hope we can deliver the experience we all had envisioned.
That is all for now! See you next week!
