18/4 Day Twenty-Four Of Game Project 2
The day didn't start up great as one of our programmers, namely the one who is solely responsible for fixing the AI and Pathfinding, reported that he had fell and hurt his hands. This meant of course that he could not come in and work today since his hands need some time to heal. We were also one designer and artist short on top of that, which meant that the day turn out to be a bit more hectic than usual. Especially since we need to have something ready to show the teachers on Tuesday.
I spent most of the day doing greyboxing for all of the puzzle rooms, since that appearently was the main focus today and also finished that up. The only thing missing are some navmeshes for the rooms so that the enemy can be used, but we put that aside for now. The last hours of the day I spent on scripting the a mockup level, which consisted of the six first rooms that will be in the game. I only had time to make the last puzzle in that functional however.
We also soon realised that the lighting in our world was completely gone, which made so that everything blended together, so much so that you could barely make up anything in the environment. We discovered it too late to fix it, but we think we'll have time to do so before the sprint review meeting on Tuesday morning.
Next week will be the last week before the Beta presentation, whereas our game is planned to be more or less finished. And since we have holiday tomorrow and next Monday, we will not continue on working with the game until Tuesday, which means that we get another week with merely four days. We'll see how that goes!
But yeah, that is all I wanted to share today.
Happy Holidays!
