29/3 Day Ten Of Game Project 2
Today our full team was gathered, where our sick programmer finally returned. Because of this, we got a lot more work done than most days.
We started out the day with a regular standup meeting, where artists did concepting and research while programmers worked with implementing mainly enemies and checkpoints.
We designers both worked on puzzle concepts today and showed what we had come up with to oneanother for feedback and made some changes to the Trello board to more easily display our progress.
The role leads and we designers once again had a meeting in the afternoon where we discussed our plans for the upcoming weeks and the progress we had made this week in each discipline and as a group. All in all, our progress is in line with our planning and if everything goes according to plan, we will be able to start testing our puzzles out in the game at the start of next week. Our current build may not seem remarkable, but we definitely have made huge progress on the programmer side, despite the circumstances. Since the artists also have finally decided on a theme and setting that is very different from what they first made concepts for, they have a lot of work in front of them. But since they are all very fast and competent at what they do, this should not be a problem.
On Monday, we will present our plan and current build to our teachers early in the morning. They will probably have some things to say about the game, but I think that they also will be satisfied with our effort thus far and recognize the hard work we have put in this week.
Until next time!
